ENGLISH: This week, the class will be completing the writing process through peer evaluation and writing the final copy of their personal narrative. We will also be studying interjections and three kinds of conjunctions: coordinating, correlative, and subordinating.

HOMEWORK:

MONDAY: Complete exercises 6 & 7, p. 387.

TUESDAY: None.

WEDNESDAY: None.

THURSDAY: None.

READING: This week, the class will be writing a comparison/contrast of two stories. We will take a summative test on Collection One. Our literary focus will be on characterization and vocabulary as we read the selection “Harriet Tubman”.

HOMEWORK:

MONDAY: Using (8×10) paper supplied by the teacher, students will select either “The Monkey’s Paw” or “The Third Wish” and will create a poster for the movie that could be made from the story. An important moment from the story should be used. Also, small drawings of one or more subplots should be used around the edges of the poster. Color should be used.

TUESDAY: None.

WEDNESDAY: Use today’s vocabulary words in original sentences.

THURSDAY: Use each of the vocabulary words on text p. 142 in an original sentence.

FRIDAY:  Quiz Monday on Harriet Tubman selection.
