WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9 – 13, 2009
4 11 2009ENGLISH: This week in class, we will continue our study of phrases and begin work on pronoun-antecedent agreement.
HOMEWORK:
MONDAY: Study for tomorrow’s test on Chapter 20 – Phrases.
TUESDAY: None
WEDNESDAY: Holiday – Veteran’s Day
THURSDAY: Exercise 19, p. 567.
READING: In class, we are reading and studying <The Diary of Anne Frank>.
On Tuesday, we will make our first visit to the school library, where students will select a fiction book. The book must be read at home and complete by Friday, November 20th. On this day, students must bring the novel to class to use on a book test. The books must be brought back to class on the following Monday in order to be collected and turned in. Every other Tuesday will be the class date to revisit the library and check out new books. Only students returning their books on loan will be allowed to check out a new one. Any student absent or failing to return their book on time will be responsible for obtaining an appropriate book on their own for the next scheduled book test.
HOMEWORK:
Selected pages from <The Diary of Anne Frank> may be assigned to be read as needed, depending on how much material we are able to cover in class each day – and this may widely vary from day to day.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10 – NOVEMBER 19: Read and have library book completed by Friday, November 20th (and bring book to class on this date).
