Classroom Rules slacey@scsk12.org

1. All students should keep a three-ring binder notebook, with dividers, for this class. The divider tabs should be labeled grammar, vocabulary, composition, literature, and novel study.

2. Students will be assigned books to be read outside of class throughout the year.

3. Students will need a small set of colored pencils, a highlighter, and two colored pens (different colors) for revising and editing.

4. All writing assignments should follow the CHS English style sheet your child has been given.

5. Each student is responsible for his/her own work whether present for class or not. If class is missed, it is his/her responsibility to find out what the assignments were and turn them in.

a. Arrangements can be made for extended absences.

b. If a student is absent when a major assignment is due, the student must turn the project in the day he/she returns to class.

c. A student should obtain the phone number of a reliable classmate to call for assignments when he/she is absent.

d. If a student has no admit or unexcused absence, zeros will be recorded for all missed work.

7. Ten points will be subtracted from a grade for each day an assignment is late. After three days, a zero will be recorded. NO LATE HOMEWORK. NO LATE DAILY ASSIGNMENTS.
